The Headache:
The Search Struggle
Before this project, finding children's activities in the Wakefield District was a bit of a maze. Information was fragmented across various platforms, making it incredibly difficult for parents to find specific, age-appropriate clubs or events near them.
The Blockers
- ✗Scattered Information: No single, easy-to-navigate platform existed for all children's activities in the district.
- ✗Age-Group Friction: Finding activities tailored to specific ages (Under 5s vs. Teens) was a constant struggle for parents.
- ✗Provider Admin: Local activity providers lacked the tools to easily manage and promote their own listings.
- ✗Visibility Gaps: Community organisations lacked the data-driven insights needed to understand local engagement trends.
The Soul:
Playful by Design
Every child deserves a place to learn and a community to belong to. We collaborated with the Young Lives Consortium, Wakefield Council, and Wakefield Families Together to ensure this platform served as a true community bridge.
Vibrant Palette
We used "Playfield Blue" and "Purple" to create an energetic, child-friendly atmosphere that feels welcoming and fun.
Friendly Typography
We chose Fredoka, a rounded sans-serif font, to ensure the site felt approachable and readable for families of all backgrounds.
Dignity-First
The interface is clean and simple, removing barriers so parents can find help or fun without the "hoop-jumping".

We built a bespoke, high-performance web directory that turns a complex database into a simple, thumb-friendly experience.
Age-Appropriate Discovery
One-tap filtering for Under 5s (Play), 5-11 Years (Grow), and 12+ Years (Belong).
Postcode-Based Search
A custom system that helps families find activities right on their doorstep.
Provider Empowerment
A dedicated portal where local clubs can manage their own sessions, images, and pricing.
Real-Time Analytics
An admin dashboard that tracks view counts and engagement, giving the Council the data they need to support the community.
