Accessibility statement
Last updated: June 2026
Blue Penguin Digital is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe the web should be usable by all — and we build every site to prove it.
Our commitment
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. This covers four principles:
- Perceivable — Content can be consumed by sight, hearing, or assistive technology.
- Operable — Every interactive element works with a keyboard, not just a mouse.
- Understandable — Content is written in plain English with predictable navigation.
- Robust — The site works across modern browsers and assistive technologies.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML5 throughout — proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and ARIA labels where needed.
- Skip-to-content link for keyboard and screen reader users.
- All interactive elements are keyboard-accessible and have visible focus indicators.
- Colour contrast meets WCAG AA minimum ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- No content that flashes more than three times per second.
- Forms use properly associated labels and error messages.
- Navigation is consistent across all pages.
Known limitations
We're not perfect. Here's what we're working on:
- Blog images: Some older blog posts may have images without alt text. We're adding these as we review older content.
- Third-party embeds: Where we embed content from other platforms, we can't control their accessibility.
- Cookie banner: We offer Accept All (essential + anonymised analytics) and Essential Only (no analytics). If you change your mind, clear your cookies and revisit — you'll be prompted again.
