Cost & Timeline
How much does a website cost? ▾
Our pricing is on the website for everyone to see — no hidden costs, no "request a quote" games:
- Starter: from £500 — landing page or small 1–4 page site
- Business: from £1,800 — 5–10 page site with CMS, blog, or custom features
- Custom: from £3,500 — large sites, complex builds, integrations
- Small web app: from £5,000 — portals, dashboards, booking systems
How long does a typical website build take? ▾
A brochure site (1–5 pages) typically takes 1–2 weeks. A business site (5–15 pages with a blog or CMS) is usually 3–6 weeks. Custom builds with integrations or complex functionality can run 6–12 weeks.
The biggest variable isn't the build itself — it's content. If you've got your copy and images ready before we start, we move fast. If content comes in dribs and drabs, it stretches the timeline. We'll give you a clear schedule and hold you to your deadlines as much as we hold ourselves to ours.
How long does a web application take to build? ▾
A simple app (single-purpose dashboard, basic portal) is typically 4–8 weeks. A business application with multiple user roles, integrations, and automated workflows usually runs 8–16 weeks. The biggest variable is scope clarity — the more we define up front, the faster we build.
What's included in the price? ▾
Every build includes: custom design (no templates), development, on-page foundations (schema markup, semantic HTML, Core Web Vitals, meta tags, clean URL structure — all standard, not an add-on), content management system setup (if needed), basic content uploading, mobile and cross-browser testing, and 30 days of post-launch support.
Copywriting and brand identity are available but scoped separately — tell us what you need and we'll build it into the quote.
What We Build (and Don't)
Do you build WordPress sites? ▾
No — and there's a good reason. WordPress sites rely on plugins for basic functionality, which creates security vulnerabilities, bloat, and ongoing maintenance headaches. We custom-code everything, which means faster load times, fewer breakages, and no critical update panic on a Friday afternoon. If you need a CMS, we use Statamic or Laravel — both give you the editing experience without the baggage.
What's the difference between a web app and a website? ▾
A website is informational — people read it. A web application is interactive — people use it. Think client portals with login areas, dashboards that pull live data, booking systems, or internal tools that automate workflows. Web apps handle user accounts, process data, and respond to input — they're software, not pages.
Can you build mobile apps too? ▾
We don't build native iOS or Android apps — that's a different discipline. But we build Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) that work on any device, can be saved to a home screen, and function offline. For most business tools, a PWA does everything a native app does without the App Store overhead.
Can you integrate with our existing software? ▾
Almost certainly yes. We build API-first — if your existing software has an API (Xero, Stripe, HubSpot, Sage, custom CRMs, anything with REST endpoints), we can connect to it. For legacy systems without APIs, we can often bridge the gap with database connections or scheduled data syncs.
Process & After Launch
Can you work with our existing website? ▾
Yes — and we'll do a free technical audit first. We'll tell you what's working, what needs fixing, and what should be rebuilt from scratch. If your current site is on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or anything else, we'll extract the copy, rebuild it properly, and redirect your old URLs so you keep your search position. You get a faster, cleaner site with the same content — just built properly this time.
What if I need changes after launch? ▾
First 30 days of support are included — bug fixes, small tweaks, questions. After that, we offer block-hours: £150 for a half-day (4 hours) or £300 for a full day (8 hours). Pay for what you use, no monthly retainer. And we'll still answer your emails — no charge for a quick question.
Will I need ongoing maintenance? ▾
Yes — all software needs maintenance. Security patches, framework updates, PHP version upgrades, and dependency management are ongoing. We offer block-hours for maintenance and feature work: £150 for a half-day or £300 for a full day. The code is yours — you can take it to any developer. No lock-in. Nobody needs a £250/month maintenance retainer — we'll tell you when something needs attention and you book the time you need.
Hosting
Do you handle hosting too? ▾
We do. Our managed hosting starts at £15/month and includes NVMe storage, automatic failover, offsite backups, and free migration from your current host. It's built and monitored in partnership with Unity Tech. More about hosting →
What's the catch with £15/month? ▾
No catch. No setup fee, no minimum contract, no premium tier upsell. Cancel any time with 30 days' notice. We keep the price low because hosting isn't our core business — it's a service we offer so our clients don't get burned by cheap shared hosting. If your site grows to need more resources, we'll tell you before we suggest upgrading — and we'll explain why.
Can I keep my domain name? ▾
Absolutely. Your domain stays wherever it is — 123-Reg, GoDaddy, Google Domains, anywhere. We'll give you the DNS records to point it to our server. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, we'll walk you through it or handle it for you. No domain lock-in, ever.
